Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary - (The Crags, near Plettenberg Bay)

The world’s first free-roaming multi-specie primate sanctuary. It offers tours (monkey safaris) where guests can  view the 500+ resident primates in their forest home, there is also a restaurant, souvenir store and viewing deck, and a 128 metre suspended canopy walk. Monkeyland’s safari guides are multi-lingual, languages spoken include German, Dutch, French and Spanish. Monkeyland is the only Fairtrade accredited primate sanctuary in South Africa.

Pass holders receive 20% discount on entry fees. Pass holders also qualify for 20% discount on the Combo and Triptic packages at Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary.

Directions from Port Elizabeth’s side

Monkeyland is situated about 240km from PE (on the N2) the ocean), pass the Nature’s Valley turn-off (about 16km from the toll gate), continue a further 500 meters on the N2 and turn to your left at the Monkeyland sign. Follow our signs for 2km on the tarred road.
